New Hat, New Work

In Los Angeles Telecine for commercials and music videos means one thing: New Hatnew hat logo, and here's some recent work from the up and coming boutique:

Bob Festa - From the original Levis 501 Blues campaign to Alfa Romeo "Hollywood," for which he was a 2007 HPA Outstanding Colorist finalist, and a 2009 Super Bowl spot for Jay Leno's new 10pm series, Bob Festa has long been established as one of the most accomplished colorists in post production. He also counts being named 2004's Commercial Colorist of the Year in da Vinci Systems Master Colorist Awards competition among his numerous industry honors.

Lifestlyes Condoms - This project was shot on the SI (Silicon Image) camera (which is similar to RED but requires a different setup and workflow):

Alfa Romeo - Shooting cars is complex, and regardless of format and changes in the industry, what hasn't changed is that every car has to look its best:

Beau Leon - Coming to New Hat after a successful run as Partner/Colorist at The Syndicate, Beau Leon is a four-time MVPA Award-winner, who was formerly on staff at 525. At New Hat, Leon is reunited with his Riot compatriot, Co-Founder/EP Darby Walker. His latest work is a diverse mix of spot, music video, and longform projects, including HBO (Noam Murro, dir.), Kings of Leon (Florida Sigismondi, dir.), Chase Bank (Michael Hausman, dir.), India.Ari (David LaChappelle, director), the documentary "Sister Corita," and a PSA via Children's Bureau.

"Beau's presence definitely has accelerated the growth of New Hat - from iconic directors like David LaChapelle to first-time helmer Kanye West, Beau attracts talent and inspires trust like no one I've ever seen." New Hat Co-Founder/Executive Producer Darby Walker

"I'm thrilled to be working with Darby again. There's trust, comfort, compatibility. I knew I'd work with her again, even when I started The Syndicate. We have a real brother-sister relationship and I wanted that feeling of having a family member with me." Beau Leon

Green Day "21 Guns" - Marc Webb directed this clip, which Beau calls "a real Green Day video." Beau should know: he lent his talents to all the videos for the band's previous album:

"I've always felt there was not enough communication among producers, agencies, and post. We have the ability at New Hat to guide our client through the process, to educate them, and allow them to have things move faster. For directors, agencies, and clients, once the media is scanned, we can do initial color-correction and we're on our way to the finished project, to realizing the vision. We're not just ahead of the curve, we're ahead of the client, anticipating their needs, which is far beyond the old school approach." Beau Leon
