"For me," he says, "it's always been about scope. I love shooting big products. I've done a great deal of aviation as well - blimps, airplanes, and so on. Like cars, they are functional art, and we're celebrating a piece of inspiration."
A resident of Los Angeles for 20 years, Damon was born and raised in Detroit, Damon started shooting film at the age of 16, before attending CCS. He worked his way up the ranks, before relocating to LA in 1990. His print work for Chevy, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Mercedes, and Porsche made him one of the top three still shooters in the US automotive market.
Damon has traveled the world, shooting print and live action campaigns in Australia, Portugal, Okinawa, Hawaii, and more. His additional work includes campaigns for Mitsubishi, Goodyear, Lexus, and most recently, Toyota.
In recent years, Damon built Damon Live Action, Inc., into a comprehensive self-contained studio, boasting a host of proprietary and fully modifiable gear. A highly acclaimed and accomplished photographer, his print work has been produced through his longstanding Damon Productions. In November 2009, inspired by several years of integrated production for myriad clients, Damon merged these entities, forming Square Planet, a turnkey solution for multi-platform commercial production.
