Little Red Robot collaborated with prolific music video director Chris Robinson on the video for "I Know What Them Girls Like" by Ludacris featuring Chris Brown and Sean Garrett (Island Def Jam Records). Impressed by some of LRR's earlier work, Robinson approached the company with this project. "I really liked LRR's creativity and design aesthetic," says Robinson. "Their work felt fresh." He asked LRR's Seth Shukovsky to bring some hip, stylish art direction to the depiction of the thoughts that run through the female mind. "The Luda song is fun," says Robinson, "so I wanted to communicate that with some vfx that added to the tone of the piece."
The team at LRR used a paper cut-out technique overlaid with hand-drawn artwork and seamless, practical visual effects to place thought bubbles in the shots. Robinson points out that he knew he wanted thought bubbles and some kind of animation, "but beyond that, I was open to LRR's ideas. They did several tests and we developed it from there." As the the concepts evolved and the video came to life, the director explains, "the squad at LRR never referred to what they couldn't accomplish - they just asked 'how can we make this fresher?'"
