MondoMouth Works Up a Thirst for Miller Lite with "Haul Away"

The Raging Artists Aspiring Spotmakers initiative keeps on trucking... The latest spec to go up - this one from the chairman of international bloggery MondoMouth - is "Haul Away" for Miller Lite.

Mondo's blog may be a hit from Hong Kong to Rio, but this piece, shot on the backlot of Hollywood's Paramount Studios, is a red-blooded American production.

The Set: New York Street on the Paramount backlot

The Gear: an iPhone and Apple's Soundtrack software

"It was a very hot, humid, muggy day in Hollywood as a result of some serious Santa Ana winds stirring things up," Mondo relates. "I was standing on the second floor fire escape taking a break from some heated interviews about the WGA strike, thinking an ice cold one would be lovely about now when the opportunity to express that presented itself."

"Haul Away" is Mondo's follow up to a pair of specs he created for Skins, inspiring an online video contest.

In true spec spirit, and due to "budgetary constraints," this spot was conceived, shot, cut, and scored by MondoMouth. Since posting the spot on YouTube last night, the ad has racked up more than 459 views, "and that's without seeding funds," he laughs.
